(We have seen his star)
An elaborate and jubilant Gregorian chant called Alleluia from the Mass for Epiphany. The word alleluia is a Latinized form of the Hebrew hallelujah (Praise ye the Lord). In this chant many notes are sung to single syllables of text. The long series of tones on ia is a wordless expression of joy and religious ecstasy.
