Humans and hominids are adapted to radically different conditions. Humans with our relatively tiny eyes, could not have originated in the same overwhelmingly dark world inhabited by dinosaurs and/or hominids, with their huge eyes. We not only aren't related to hominids, we don't even come from the same place.
