How to dry figs (and make fig leathers)

This is a video that my daughter and I made on how to dry figs in a dehydrator. We dry them in strips, so they come out like fruit leathers.
All you need is a dehydrator, figs, and a knife.

What is a fig you say? a fig is a fruit that harks back to ancient times. The fig was one of the first plants cultivated by humans.
However, figs are not commonly sold in markets, as they do not ship easily (they have fragile skin and easily become overripe). So, the only way to get figs is if you have a tree, or if you know someone who does. If you do, this is a great way to take them off their hands if they have too many!
