Dyno testing 2015 Polaris Slingshot at Braun’s Muscle Car and Hot Rod Restoration in Lomita, CA using a Dynocom in-floor chassis dyno. This testing is on a completely stock Slingshot, using the stock MEFI 6 ecm. The ecm was tuned using software developed by OBD Diagnostics Inc, found at www.mefiburn.com. Initial pulls were done to baseline the vehicle, and then successive pulls were done by editing and modifying the calibration. The vehicle baselined at 160.0 rwhp and 162.2 ft/lbs of torque. Peak hp and torque from doing a tune only was 170.9 rwhp and 179.9 ft/lbs of torque. With the air inlet duct removed and the throttle body open the peak hp improved to 173.8 rwhp. The stock inlet ducting proved to be a restriction, pulling 5kpa of vacuum above 6000rpm (95kpa vs. 100kpa). Peak torque was at 4300 rpm and peak hp was at 5600 rpm. Factory redline is set at 7200 rpm, dyno runs were stopped at 6600 rpm as power fell there sharply. www.BraunsAutomotive.com
