Roy was born with cerebral palsy. On Sept 5, 2008, he did a fundraiser where he left his wheelchair and walked 38 yards after a football game at Central High School in Park Hills, MO. This raised over $12,000 for Relay for Life. B104, a local radio station, sold 500 tickets and donated $5,000 of sales to Relay in Roy's name. Thus, he got the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game. The pitch was caught by Daniel Descalso.
