Rep. Cuellar Speaks in Favor of Bipartisan 2017 Budget Compromise

Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28), a member of the Appropriations Committee, speaks on the floor of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in support of the 2017 Omnibus Appropriations bill. The bill would fund the federal government for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Congressman Cuellar praised the Chair and Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee for their leadership and commitment to bipartisan compromise. He also identified specific provisions in the bill that will benefit his constituents in south Texas, from help for citrus growers to border security. He noted that the bill does not contain funding for a "medieval" border wall.
