This is Willy Rosen's song - Frau Maier tanzt Tango played with the usual finesse by Dajos Béla but with "e" in Maier!

So Leon Golzman plays music by Willy Rosen. Two Jews but different ends. Dajos changed direction and left Germany in the mids 30s to tour Europe. He finally made a life for himself in South America, to be followed 7 years later by his persecutors hiding away from their crimes. Willy Rosen thought he would be safe in Europeans countries but he was finally arrested in the Netherlands and via Theresienstadt ended up at Auschwitz, this was part of the Autumn Transports of 18,402 people as Theresienstadt was wound down. It took 2 days to reach Auschwitz which means Rosen started his journey on the 26th perhaps with the four members of the Capell family from Dortmund, Albert, Selma, Hermann and Johanna. He was gassed on the 28th October 1944 perhaps at the same time as Albert Capell.

Hermann Goring had said that if his Luftwaffe failed to prevent the RAF dropping bombs on Berlin people could call him Herr Maier!
