Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

"A long time ago, a handful of sailors took a small boat out into uncharted skies. They had no idea what they would find... Monsters... a maelstrom... the end of the world... It was because these sailors challenged the unknown, that new lands were discovered."
-Vyse the Blue Rogue
It's official. Amateur Extension Theater 2000 has hit 400 total extensions. In honor of this momentous occasion, I, your blue rogue of a host, Alkahest, cordially invite you to witness what could end up being my favorite extension of them all.
Released in Japan under the title of 'Eternal Arcadia', Skies of Arcadia follows Vyse, a daring young swashbuckler who dreams of setting out on an adventure to explore the incredible air-centric world of Arcadia. And what better way to begin his epic voyage than as crewmember of the ship with the coolest map theme in the history of RPG-dom?
'Litte Jack' is the second of three world map themes, and arguably, the finest as well. It is heard at the midway point of the game, when Vyse & Co. set sail aboard the toughest fishing ship in the history of Arcadia, the Little Jack. Owned by cantankerous ol' Captain Drachma, the Little Jack's name has a poignant, meaningful origin... but why not play the game yourself and find out about it? As to the music, well. That is a story in and of itself.
Essentially, there is one base theme. However, like several other examples in Skies of Arcadia's soundtrack, the Little Jack theme changes depending on your location in the game -- it'll have a middle eastern flair while you're in Nasrad territory, and tribal drums begin a-drummin' if you sail on over to the verdant lands of the Green Moon, Ixa'taka. This is a stroke of genius, yet again demonstrating just why I love Skies of Arcadia so much: it is an innovative masterwork in every conceivable way.
But the problem is, they squished all versions of the Little Jack together, four in all (Mid-Ocean, Nasrad, Ixa'taka, Valua), into a single track for the OST. Do you have any idea how difficult this made it to extend the Little Jack theme? No, I imagine you don't; I envy that innocence, dear viewer, as it quite frankly DROVE ME STRAIGHT UP THE WALL, THROUGH THE CEILING, ALL THE WAY TO THE SIX MOONS OF ARCADIA AND BACK AGAIN!
I'm kidding, it wasn't quite that torturous. But the process was anything but smooth. As it is, I sadly had to truncate the Valuan portion of the melody since that's where the dreaded 'Fade Out' began. Until such a time as somebody provides quality rips from the in-game soundtrack, and it includes all four versions of 'Little Jack', though, this is the absolute best I believe can be done. And y'know what? Listening to it right now, I have no problems with that at all. Thank you once more, my LORD, for enabling me to accomplish what I believed to be impossible.
Well, this is it. The big four-double-oh. I never dreamed I would come this far in a year's time, or that so many people would've taken an interest in my little hobby. Sincerely, I do thank you for stopping by; after all, what value would my work have if there weren't viewers like yourselves to enjoy it? Sad to say, I will be taking an extended vacation from Youtube and music extending for a few months' time. I'll discuss that in a separate video, though.
But just because I'll be leaving shortly, doesn't mean you won't have anything to do. Twenty, count 'em, twenty more extensions are waiting after this one, and they're among some of my all-time favorites which I'd neglected to extend, up until now. Hope you enjoy, friends! Now, for our next video, what better way to celebrate this victorious turn of events than... a victory theme! In extended format, naturally. See ya there soon!
