In 2016/17 I built a cedar strip canoe and have been enjoying taking it on a few trips here and there lately. I heard of a new Mexican place nearby in Henderson and realised it'd be a nice paddle down Henderson Creek to the boat ramp just around the corner. I tried it once with my friend Marty and it worked great, so on another clear day my friend Ruby and I decided to give it a go.

We launched from Tui Glen Reserve in Henderson, then its 4.5km of paddling and 600ish meters walk to the Mexican place. I didn't feel like leaving my precious canoe at the boat ramp so we wheeled it round the corner on a c-tug canoe cart, fortunately the road is quite quiet at weekends here. Its about an hours paddle each way and we timed it so that we'd be paddling against the tide going there and paddling back just before high tide so hopefully we'd have a little bit of current to take us back.
