Tessa Rosenberg, Age: 18, Country: Australia
Tessa is singing "Shma Israel" by Sarit Hadad

Tessa Rosenberg is one of four girls in the Rosenberg family. Her parents and grandparents are from South Africa, Toronto, Canada and Australia. Starting in the 3rd grade at a Jewish Day School, Tessa took music lessons and carried her hobby all the way through grade 12 performing for many Jewish non-profits, at ceremonies and Israeli related events.

In 2011 Tessa participated on the yearlong MASA-Israel By Choice program, and it was during her time on a volunteer MASA program that she found out about Hallelujah and its international singing competition. Tessa mentioned to us that participating in a MASA program was one of the best decisions she made in her 18 years in the Jewish community.

For Tessa, the fact that Hallelujah is not just a song competition but a Jewish and Israeli related initiative made the whole opportunity much more attractive. Having visited Israel many times with her parents for holidays, the Maccabiah games, family friends, and having learned how to read and write in Hebrew Tessa sees Israel as an important part of her future. We hope that Hallelujah will open up a new, Israeli perspective for Tessa and her future.
