The Wake County Board of Education and WCPSS high schools would like to recognize the achievements of 24 seniors who have been named the 2012 valedictorian for his or her school. Students are honored with the prestigious title for earning the highest cumulative grade-point average of his or her graduating class. This year, Wakefield High School has named two students as co-valedictorians. About half the students will attend North Carolina colleges and universities, while the other half will travel to schools around the country. Many of the talented students plan to pursue degrees and careers in the medical field, business and engineering. In this video, several of the students talk about their schools and their plans.
