Jewish group demands Cruz explain endorsement by evangelical Mike Bickle (TRUNEWS VIDEO)
A U.S. Jewish group is challenging Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz to “clarify” his endorsement by Mike Bickle, an evangelical Christian pastor and founder of International House of Prayer in Kansas City and Israel Mandate.
Cruz publicized the endorsement by Bickle last month.
“Through prayer, the Lord has changed my life and altered my family’s story,” Cruz said in his announcement. “I am grateful for Mike’s dedication to call a generation of young people to prayer and spiritual commitment.”
The National Jewish Democratic Council has accused Bickle of saying God sent Hitler to hunt Jews for not accepting Jesus as the Messiah, according to the Times of Israel.
"Mike Bickle’s views about why God allowed Jews to be killed in the Holocaust, as expressed in a 2011 speech, are abhorrent, intolerant and unacceptable,” the organization said in a statement posted to their website.
Here is the direct quote from Bickle’s sermon, where he referenced Jeremiah 16:16.
“And He says, ‘And if they don’t respond to grace, I’m going to raise up the hunters.’ And the most famous hunter in recent history is a man named Adolf Hitler.”
Bickle is head of the Israel Mandate project, which is a ministry dedicated to converting Jews to Christianity, by mobilizing intercessors to “pray for Israel and to stand with and encourage Messianic believers in Israel”.
The International House of Prayer website says Bickle’s teaching “emphasizes growing in passion for Jesus through intimacy with God, doing evangelism and missions work from the place of night and day prayer, and the end times.”
