Hamed should never have left Brendan Ingle.
Manny Steward the ''legendary'' trainer was not satisfied with Hamed's performance at the end of the training-camp but had successfully changed Hamed's style during the bout which among other things led The Prince straight to his only defeat of his professional career.
at the end of round 5 Manny says to Naseem : "You way behind on points,if this fight goes away as going right now you lose ur championship"
In fact Hamed didn't take any punch during round 5 and was leading by 48-47. seemed like Emanuel Steward was confused or he wasn't aware at all of possible result. Later after each round both Oscar Suarez and Manny kept telling him use ur left hand more often, make more powershot so on,at the end of round 9 Emanuel gives to Naseem the worst advice that a trainer can : ''you gotta go for a knock out''
These instructions "fructified" :
Hamed showed his worst performance ever during this bout, barrera boxed controlled and won the bout by 3 points with the score of 115-112 by an unanimous decision.
The myth that Hamed is unbeatable was destroyed, which broke something in the soul of this untouchable boxer.
Many think barerra should have been disqualified beacause of his acts in the last round when he forced Hamed into the corner. barerra really showed what kind of ''champion'' he was.
Hamed returned in 2002 for one last bout before giving up his career ,though officially he never announced his retirement.
The world of boxing had to say farewell to this fantastic 3 time worldchampion fighter whose unique, spectacular and aggressive style always guaranteed entertainment and excitement for the audience.
The Bout starts at 33:50 as well the video contains the Built-up,Interviews,the Entrance & the Post Fight Analysis.
