Til Chikki or gachak is a Sesame Seeds Brittle (Sesame Seeds Candy) made using jaggery, coconut, dry fruit of choice and Sesame Seeds. It is a popular Indian Sweet enjoyed during winter months especially during festival of Lohri and Makar Sakranti. This Nutritious sweet is great as a gift, good for sharing with company and to ward off chills and cold during winter. Turn on your fireplace, make a cup of Chai Tea and enjoy these little treats.

250 gms Jaggery (Gur)- unprocessed, unrefined cane sugar
1 cup sesame seeds
1/4 tsp cardamom powder (Elaichi powder)
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp shredded coconut flakes
3 tbsp crushed almonds and cashews

Roast Sesame seeds until golden. Set aside
Dissolve jaggery in water on medium heat in a saucepan. Bring to boil then let cook for 3-4 mins until caramalized or the syrup thickens.
Mix sesame seeds, cardamom powder, coconut and dry fruit in the jaggery syrup and mix well while stirring everything quickly.
Pour on a greased plate while still warm and flatten it out with your spatula and let it cool down. Make cuts so that its easy to cut into pieces later when it has solidified completely.
Can be stored in an airtight container for upto 3 months.
