Recorded subpixels on my LCD screen with a webcam.
Video used as source for the subpixel player:
Big Buck Bunny from http://www.bigbuckbunny.org
This recording shows a subpixel video player I whipped up quickly in Flash playing the entire Big Buck Bunny short available at http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/
It just acts as if the subpixels were normal pixels with a third of the width and displays a "grayscale" image, so there are 3 times as many horizontal "virtual" pixels as there are vertical ones.
For the LCD screen I used a Samsung 226BW on a brightness similar to the "Internet" setting (I believe that some effects might differ with different brightness levels, especially the inversion / cross-talk).
The webcam used was a Philips SPC900NC positioned as close to the screen as possible, manually focused and set to record at 10fps (where the refresh cycle is most visible and the screen doesn't flicker).
