Efflorescence can look like a white mold. Moisture and dampness moving through basement concrete can cause spalling and degradation of the concrete. The signs of efflorescence and the white deposits are not mold. But the evidence of the efflorescence does indicate the presence of moisture. Moisture can and does support the growth of mold. So even though efflorescence is not mold, it does indicate the climate needed to grow mold. There are sealers that work well to stop the moisture movement and protect the concrete from degradation. RadonSeal is one of the best concrete sealers available. This video was created to answer one of the most common questions that I get about mold, and that is "what is that in my basement, it looks like White Mold" For Mold Remediation Service in Massachusetts or New-Hampshire Please Call AAA Flood Drying at 978-392-1895 http://aaaflooddrying.com/
