Chelsea have sold unsettled striker Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool for an undisclosed fee. Sturridge has found his chances limited at Stamford Bridge so far this season and he has only scored one goal for the Blues this campaign.
The 23-year-old hasn't played for Chelsea for over a month and has signed a long term contract at Anfield. While one forward is departing West London there could soon be a man coming in to replace him, in the shape of Newcastle's Demba Ba.
The Magpies have confirmed on their website that Chelsea had met the release clause in the 27-year-old's contract. Ba has scored 13 goals in the Premier League so far this season, only Manchester United's Robin Van Persie has scored more.
The Senegalese forward will now hold talks with the Blues about a potential transfer and has been left out of the Newcastle squad for their game with Everton on Wednesday night.
