Wouhou guys, guess who's back?
Sorry about the two week long absence. Had too much stuff in University and personal life coming at me with brute force. And, admittedly, I got hooked on Mass Effect. Damn that game is goooooood. "But Silver, if you have time to play ME, why don't you upload more often?!" you might ask - frankly because when I come home, my batteries are empty and I don't want (or rather, can't) think of anything witty to write.
But now that my first exam is over (maths, I fucked it up) and I finally have finished my apprenticeship, I have some room to breathe again. My next examen is informatics on the 3th of December, shouldn't be all too tough... I hope.
Anyway, the music the music!
It's been to terribly long since we had some Youmu-chan here on this channel (well, now that I think of it, it isn't that long since, two
months...). Whatever. HλLF-LIFE is a pretty good arrange actually. The first few seconds remind me a bit of Toxicity by System of a Down. Most likely that's just me though kek. Why is this arrange "only" good? It has all the components you need for a great arrange - multiple instruments (including a violin) for complexity, a great arranger, one of the best base tunes and a renowed vocalist. Paradoxically because of Mei Ayakura - she
just doesn't deliver as good as usually. I know she doesn't usually sing will all that much force, but in this arrange her voice has almost no impact. While she does the refrain very good, her parts before or after the refrains are often overshadowed by the instruments in my opinion. That is, at first. After a few times listening to it, I got a hold of the detail and care this arrange was melted together with. If you don't pay much attention to the components seperately, it all flows together into one really good melodic metal (Issat even a genre?) arrange.
Why did I even upload it then if I complain about it - cause the instrumentals are great, 'at's why. The standard instruments for metal (E-guitar, Bass and drums) all pack a nifty punch, but what wins me over in this arrange is the excellent use of the violin I mentioned above. It gives this arrange a somewhat elegant feeling. Can't really say it better tbh.
Enjoy it,
Silver
