Infestation is action-adventure with notable similarity to Freescape games. Player is put to the role of the agent of Interplanetary Federation, who has to explore the colony, whose population has been killed by alien lifeform. Player's mission is to destroy the eggs laid by said lifeform and then destroy colony and the planet by setting colony's power source to critical mass.
Despite Aliens-inspired backstory the game itself is based on mostly exploration and such instead of action (although there still are some hazards that have to be eliminated with shoulder-mounted laser). Major aspect of the game is to preserve the life support of main character by maintaining body temperature (rises when suit is on and decreases when it is off), food (supplied by suit) and oxygen (used when helmet is on).
While the game has its flaws (it certainly is quite unforgiving), it has good deal of innovation. With the current popularity of survival horror games there may be notable potential for modernized remake.
PLEASE NOTE: The additional information written in the "stratch pad" of suit comes from yours truly. Due to the limits in accepted letters/symbols it was not possible to include commas and such in my notes.
