In July of 2003, two young pilots from Orange County, California set out in a DiamondStar DA-40 to break the transcontinental speed record for a plane in the weight class of 1000 kg or under. They flew to Kitty Hawk, NC in honor of the 100th year anniversary of the first flight by the Wright Brothers. Diadem Productions LLC (http://www.diadempro.com), an Orange County based video production company, created this documentary as a short film project and received a bronze Telly Award in 2004.
