The recently opened section of track between Airdrie and Bathgate is the longest new section of rail opened in the UK for over 100 years, and opens up the towns of West Lothian and North Lanarkshire to the social and economic benefits of being part of the rail network.
Muckle Hen documented the project for Network Rail over 10 months. This film, drawing on interviews with politicians, stakeholders and passengers, with specially created graphics and a composed music track, demonstrates how important the railway will be to the people who live along it.
