Alicia Keys debuts "Girl On Fire" at the 2012 VMAs with an assist from Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas! What's up guys, I'm Misty Kingma and you're watching ClevverMusic. I was lucky enough to attend this year's Video Music Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and got to witness the touching performance from Alicia Keys featuring Nicki Minaj. This was Alicia's debut live performance of her new single "Girl On Fire" which features Nicki Minaj rapping on the "Inferno" version of the track.

Alicia started off the performance with her signature piano playing while standing and showed off her stunning vocals, dressed in a flattering gold top and black pants. Assisting Alicia was Olympic gold-winning gymnast Gabby Douglas who tumbled with flips and cartwheels front and center on the stage while Alicia sang "She's just a girl and she's on fire". The visual was magnificent and magical at the same time, making it one of our favorite moments of the night.

Mid-way through, Alicia shouted, "Nicki, light it up baby!" and Nicki Minaj was in the middle of the crowd ready for her verse dressed in a black cloak. Nicki finished her verse, "And I got 'em aggy, because I win the gold like Gabby." Towards the end of the performance Alicia marched toward center stage pumping her fists in the air. The three girls totally knocked it out the park- check out our footage.

What do you think of Alicia's new song? And about Gabby joining in the performance? LOVE or HATE it? Be sure to keep it right here on ClevverMusic for all your VMA news, see you soon guys!
