"I don't think it's too much to say that Churchill say British history through the eyes of William Shakespeare," says author and historian Andrew Roberts. Roberts's new biography of the Prime Minister, "Churchill: Walking with Destiny," comes out November 6. He tells us how Churchill viewed British history and how he wrote his speeches in blank verse—the "ba-dum-ba-dum-ba-dum-ba-dum-ba-dum" poetic meter that Shakespeare uses in his plays.

"Churchill's Shakespeare," on display at the Folger October 6, 2018 - January 6, 2019, explores Shakespeare's influence on British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's speeches, ideas, and life.
