A beauty to behold with your eyes and your ears, the Korg Stage Vintage SV-1 took the stage piano world by storm when it was introduced last year. The keyboard's retro design aesthetic is the perfect complement to the SV-1's range of tones--a veritable history lesson in synthesis and electric pianos, from clavs to tonewheel organs to tines to massive analog synths. Korg's Rich Formidoni runs through the all-star sounds in this nostalgia-inducing video demo.
Operating the Korg SV-1 is a blast from the past as well. Presets get saved the same way you save stations on a car stereo. Parameters get adjusted with big, friendly knobs and not via pages upon pages of LCD menus. Rich explains the how-to's and exhibits his encyclopedic knowledge of keyboard-based pop and rock--he's got to be the most in-demand cover band keyboardist on Long Island.
