In this Director's Briefing video, CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden talks about the latest Vital Signs report on Listeria (www.cdc.gov/vitalsigns/) -- a leading cause of death from food poisoning. Listeria is dangerous and can hide in soft cheeses, cantaloupe, sprouts -- foods that are not usually cooked to kill the germs. Listeria can also be deadly. Pregnant women, newborns, young children, people over 65, and those with weakened immune systems are especially vulnerable.
