Cardin Discusses Unrest in Baltimore on U.S. Senate Floor

Baltimore is known for its people, its friendliness and the real pride of our strong neighborhoods. The city’s spirit was shaken badly during yesterday’s events, as we saw violence escalate to unthinkable levels. What happened to Freddie Gray is something that needs to be investigated fully. In Baltimore and beyond, we want justice. All of us want justice. Freddie Gray’s death was heartbreaking. Seeing a small few use his death as an excuse for violence and looting – potentially derailing the movement to seek justice for Mr. Gray – was all the more painful.
