This video is an introduction to the cre-lox system of conditional mouse genetic engineering and tools available in the Mouse Genome Informatics database, found at www.informatics.jax.org
Described are (1) conditional (floxed) alleles with recombinase recognition sites inserted to flank the gene of interest and (2) identification and characterization of recombinases used for tissue-specific genome remodeling.
