For a jovial, light-hearted addition to a 1992 concert, I include some selections from Franz Josef Haydn's "Musical Clocks." These pieces are taken from a suite of seven works written in 1792 for a famous clock in Vienna, Austria. [I visited this clock in the summer of 1971.] Haydn's music was composed to play automatically on a small flute organ, operated by the clock mechanism.
