UPDATE: I've made a simple Photoshop Action which will remove all white and allow you to keep all colours in tact: http://envye.com/index.php?main_page=...

Alternate (sort of) method: http://youtu.be/7_g08CH4oS0
Just a really quick video showing you how to make a white background transparent in Photoshop! This method best used when you need to actually remove the white from a semi-transparent image (like a watercolour splotch) instead of just erasing the outer white background. This comes in handy when you are creating one colour overlays or brushes and images that need to be placed on top of other backgrounds. If you're looking for something else, try this other video I made: http://youtu.be/7_g08CH4oS0
