KAGS in College Station, TX did a short news story about the environmentally friendly flame retardant treatment developed for foam in Professor Jaime Grunlan's research lab at Texas A&M University (http://nanocomposites.tamu.edu). With a nanocoating of clay and chitosan, deposited using layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly, Dr. Grunlan's group is able to eliminate melt dripping in open-celled polyurethane foam and significantly limit degradation from fire.
