Co-written by Artie Kornfield and Steve Duboff and recorded for their eponymous first album, "The Cowsills", "The Rain, The Park & Other Things" was the breakthrough hit for the family group, The Cowsills. At the time the album was recorded, the group consisted of brothers Bill, Bob, and Barry; John and their mother, Barbara. Siblings, Paul & Susan joined soon afterwards.

One of the finer examples of "sunshine pop" from the sixties, "The Rain, The Park & Other Things" reached the #2 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 in the fall of 1967, was on the charts for sixteen weeks, and became a gold record for The Cowsills.

The version heard here in the Brooks Arthur mixed 45 RPM mono release.
