This video introduction will give you a quick overview on how best to navigate the Majestic website and use the tabs and information, so as to better position yourself within your industry sector.
Majestic currently holds the largest link intelligence database on the web, which means they can provide you with detailed information and trends over time about how the web is linked together. Why is this useful? Well, because looking at this link data, you can better understand the market place your website is within, and in doing so, can improve your digital strategy so you appear higher within Search Engines and bridge the gap between you and your competitors.
Majestic constantly revisits web pages and sees around a billion URLs, every 24 hours, which provides users with a vast amount of current, reliable and trusted backlink data. These links are then analysed via two Flow Metrics – Trust and Citation flow (a comparison of the quality versus quantity of backlinks). Ideally, you want to have these two numbers in proximity of one another so you know your site is well linked to, and these links are trusted so as not to hurt your website ranking within Search Engine results.
It’s probably also worth mentioning at this point that if you’re completely new to backlink data analysis and a first time user of Majestic then there is an up-to-date glossary under the support tab where all the key concepts behind Majestic are explained, as well as other industry terminology.
In understanding the Majestic data, you can then really drill down into what it means for you, using different tools and charts. If you go to the Tools tab, you have a choice of selecting the tool you wish to use.
