Demonstrating the resilience of the 7-ounce, .06" thick Mora Craftsman #333. The edge has been reprofiled in our shop to be suitable for chopping and batoning, as well as general knife tasks.
The first split made was done using purposefully poor technique--the blade should be kept level during the entire process. However, it was important for us to demonstrate that the blade would return true after being significantly bent out of line in the batoning process, and this was the most reliable way to produce the effect. The second split performed demonstrates more appropriate batoning technique.
