This song was written by Jimmy Kennedy and Michael Carr in 1939. The first time I play it through on a Tiple- pronounced TeePlay. It is a spanish instrument that has a few different ways of stringing. This is a ten string that is run in four courses 2-3-3-2 and tuned ADF#B like 'ukuleles used to be tuned in the 1920's except that these are steel strings like a guitar. The instrument has no labels, but the design is a Martin rip-off.
The second time I play it on a mottled yellow Maccaferri Islander plastic ukulele from the 1950's.
There is a song practice sheet at www.ukesterbrown.com for your musical education and entertainment.
