Made by The Commonwealth Film Unit 1972. Directed by Philip Mark Law. Ballarat seems to catch the quintessence of Victorian Australia - the curious old houses and tramcars, the Coffee Palace and the Cobb & Co office. Here, one can see the old beside the new. At the time this film was made in the 1970s, the once bustling gold rush town had become a quiet, rural city.
