This lesson features prakars used in bhajans. This video explains the difference between bhajans and kirtans from the lyrical and musical aspects.
- Kirtans tend to use louder bols, often call-in-reponse in nature, and are simple chants. - Bhajans tend to use softer and refined bols (ex: ga, gin, finger ka, etc.), have lyrics, and are usually not call-and-reponse.
Prakar 3: dhā tira ki ti | tā ghe dhin nā
The concept of half-matras are introduced. Both ti and ra are played in Matra 2.
After practicing the rhythmic cycle, the end of the video features an accompaniment exercise by accompanying the bhajan: Jaya Jaya Jagannatha Sacira Nandan
