I made this for a course in digital sound design. The sound effects were ripped with Goldwave, and each effect was inserted into the audio track by matching the timing of the frames in VirtualDub. It took a couple of hours, since I couldn't think of a better way to go about it.
Trivial note: the gameplay was assisted with savestates and replayed in FCE Ultra 0.95.15, so I didn't have to replay it all manually to get the video just right.
Super Mario Bros by Nintendo, Quake soundtrack and sound effects by Trent Reznor (I think).
reallyjoel's dad can beat Super Mario Bros without using the jump button.
