Where does your money sleep at night? or in other words, when it's not under your mattress, what is your money doing to the world? Anything good?
Past webinars have talked about how doing good through business is the only way we can scale solutions to the billions in need, and how philanthropy is really just investing where you are guaranteed a 100% loss. The next step in that path is to think about how capitalists can improve the world through their capital.
All their capital, not just the 5% or 10% they think of as philanthropy. All their capital, not just the 5% budgeted for "alternative investments". The 95% of capital sitting in cash, stock, bonds, real estate, and all the other "asset classes" from the advice of asset managers.
Meanwhile, foundation need to look at their endowments, which are too often invested in industries that damage the world, while the mandated 5% per year are given away to make some positive impact in the world.
So... where does your money sleep at night, and how can you sleep better knowing its doing good while you rest?
