Look for cyclists before opening a car door. Commuter bike riding has more than doubled between 2007 and nearly quadrupled in the last decade. While the risk of death and serious injury for riders has fallen by nearly 75 percent, "dooring" - crashes caused when a car door is opened into the path of a bike rider - continue to post a risk.
This video is part of the LOOK! Campaign, kicked off with DOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan and U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. The video will play in all 13,000 yellow taxis in New York City, accompanied by 26,000 eye-catching stickers available for use in cabs, as well as on the City's NYC Life channel.
