ABC KTNV Channel 13 in Las Vegas interviews race organizer Craig Wilhelm about the Windy 25 Memorial 5K. The Windy25 Memorial 5K pays tribute to our fallen service members and their families.

The race memorializes the flight crew of the Windy 25, an Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter that crashed in Ghazni, Afghanistan on April 6, 2005. Killed in that crash were 11 passengers and Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Clint Prather, Chief Warrant Officer 2 David Ayala, Staff Sergeant Charles "Chuck" Sanders, Specialist Michael Spivey and Specialist Pendelton Sykes II.

The Windy 25 Memorial 5K was held in March 2011 on the famous Vegas strip and raised funds to help TAPS. The TAPS Run and Remember Team is grateful for all of the hard work by so many in Las Vegas to help the surviving families of our fallen military heroes. The race start and finish lines were at the Cosmopolitan Resort, and the hotel hosted an after party for the runners.

Craig and a group of committed volunteers plan to hold the race again next year. More information is available at http://taps.kintera.org/windy25
