Columbine II, a Lockheed Constellation, became the first aircraft to carry the designation Air Force One, carrying President Dwight D. Eisenhower around the country. The aircraft had been sitting in the Arizona sun since the 1990's. It was moved from Arizona to Mt. Pleasant Texas on March 21, 2016. On March 23, 2016 it left Mt. Pleasant on a flight to Bridgewater, Virginia for a complete restoration. The planes history is quiet interesting, and thankfully it is being preserved for future generations.
