Dr Mike Howe, BGS Chief Curator, describes his surprise at the rediscovery of some unregistered fossils, collected by Charles Darwin, at the British Geological Survey (BGS), Keyworth, near Nottingham. The collection was assembled by Joseph Hooker (Darwin's best friend) while he was briefly employed by the Survey in 1846.
