If one watches this video without sound, it would appear as if Congressman Dan Maffei (D-NY 25th District) is dancing while the aide to his left is conducting an orchestra. Dan Maffei is dancing - he is dancing around simple and straightforward questions from his constituents in Western and Central New York. One would think that an elitist with three Ivy League degrees would be able to answer simple questions, and not rely on weak statements such telling his constituents "I am insulted with you all". No, instead of doing his job (of contributing to healthy debate, answering his constituents questions, and proving that he did in fact read and comprehend the legislation before signing) Dan Maffei jumps around flailing his arms as if he has never been questioned on anything in his entire life.

Aside from Maffei embarrassing himself, he also hides behind his aides. Not only does the man to his left try to silence those questioning Maffei, but the woman to his right approaches the individual taking this video and instructs them to turn the camera off - as if his staff is trying to hide something. Jim Walsh was certainly not perfect and should have never remained in office for as long as he did, however Dan Maffei is an absolute embarrassment.

Maffei possibly learned these tactics of hiding behind his staff from Charles Rangel - the same Charles Rangel who has blatantly cheated on his taxes while simultaneously serving as the Chairman to the Congressional committee responsible for writing the tax code. Maffei was once a member of Rangel's staff and his actions are therefore no surprise.

Update: NY-25 is now NY-24 due to redistricting. Once again, New York State has significantly decreased in population, which is the reason for redistricting. The reason for the population loss is overbearing regulations and some of the highest taxes in the country; all thanks to Democrats such as Dan Maffei.
