and when i row my boat, i fall out of view
my face is a mask, a reflection of you
and so gently i row, with dust in the wind
sometimes life seems over before it had ever begin'd

it sometimes seems no great tragedy
but life as purgatory, memento mori
not wanting to hurt and so life becomes lies
life slips away even with the sun rise

as these fierce winds scatter these ashes to pieces
i stare at the stars and laugh for no reason
because i been here before or at least so it seems
time has no meaning inside of my dream

yet i'll continue to row, for it's all i know
just marking time, with nowhere to go
my emotions and feelings don't matter, align
i can't even feel sad if even i tried

yet can i admit i don't know how to live, how to give
how to be, from here to eternity
rowing and rowing gently down the stream
merrily, merrily, life seems but a dream

and i need to wake up to fall back asleep
to lose everything so my heart i can keep
my will here is weak and lost is my faith
from ashes to ashes from stardust to space
