QuickTools consists of QuickMask, QuickFill 2, Gradient Tool and Clone Tool. All four are specifically designed to work with Final Cut Pro's effects masking capabilities.

QuickMask has the ability to key out colors or a range of colors with the effect's Color Mask. Use as many keyframable shape masks from the same effect to supplement the color mask or use as a garbage matte. Manual tracking (is easy!)

QuickFill 2 is used in the same manner but does not key, per se, but can be used to fill masked areas with a specific color or blended with the original media. Saturation and Value controls are included to make coloring more precise when using blend modes. (Can be used for a "Pleasantville effect").

Gradient Tools is essentially the same as QuickFill except that is uses a gradient. Its features include an onscreen gradient "designer" (onscreen controls to assist in layout and animation) and a center control when used for smaller masked regions.

Clone Tool can be used to move the original media into masked regions for "repair", occlusion, and special effects... a.k.a. "Image fill".

Extras include Matte Magic & Spill Suppression, Matte Shadow and a separate Drop Shadow Plus which can be used in place of Matte Shadow and also to create picture-in-picture (with drop shadow and simple border) effects.
