Ten years ago this month, we uploaded our first video to YouTube: a trailer for Doug Aitken's "Sleepwalkers." The nighttime installation comprised of eight-large scale film sequences projected around the Museum and on its facades. Jointly commissioned by MoMA and Creative Time, the installation was Aitken's first large-scale public work, and the first to bring art to MoMA's exterior walls.

In January 2007, artist Doug Aitken transformed midtown Manhattan with seven monumental projections on the exterior facades of The Museum of Modern Art. Actors Donald Sutherland and Tilda Swinton, musicians Seu Jorge and Cat Power, and actor/street drummer Ryan Donowho star in the interlocking vignettes, visible from the street. "sleepwalkers" leads viewers on a journey through the city fabric, from an abandoned subway tunnel to the neon lights of Times Square. Learn more: http://mo.ma/2hAqckO
