A 6-year old child with history of penetrating corneal trauma, aphakia and vitreous incarceration into the wound. Surgery involved anterior vitrectomy, release of synechiae, partial scleral fixation of 3-piece foldable IOL and pupil reconstruction using a modified Seipser knot technique. Although time-consuming, this surgery transforms a deformed eye into a functional, and even cosmetically plausible, unit.
