Girls' education and empowerment is paramount an achieving sound economic and social progress in any given society. Educated women means increased productivity from approximately 50% of a society's population. Educated women means a lower fertility rate and a better chance to escape the poverty trap. These girls are just two, out of 100 million children, mostly of whom are girls, who are not in school. Victims of child abuse and at high risk for becoming child prostitutes, these girls have an uncertain future.
Luckily, one has been given a chance to go to school. And when she is older, her children will have that same chance as well. It is in these small changes that we can start to see the ripple effects that will someday turn the tides.
