An honest review of the Hasbro Qui-Gon Jinn Ultimate FX Lightsaber and why this does not necessarily mean that a Force-FX version is next on Hasbro's list. A Qui-Gon Jinn Force-FX has been missing from the FFX line since the first FFX saber was released back in 2002 (Anakin AOTC). Why? No one has any idea. It's not like it's nigh-impossible like a Force-FX Darth Sidious would be. It's very possible, but yet remains...as Obi-Wan would put it....elusive.
The saber is essentially a bastardized Qui-Gin plastic toy hilt with Hasbros' new Ultimate FX electronics and green blade (same as their Luke ROTJ). The difference between this one and the other UFXs is that you can tell this has nothing to do with a Force-FX version in anyway. At least with the other editions, it looks like they borrowed from their Force-FX cousins. Not this one! This was simply a gratuitous release to coincide with TPM in 3D. A sort of slap in the face to Force-FX fans who have been waiting for a Qui-Gon Jinn. Will it ever happen? We can only hope...
Help us Star Wars Force-FX geeks, Hasbro...you're our only hope.
