To date there is no formal / direct training on mind mapping given to Malaysian students at secondary schools. In some studies, the use of mind mapping technique shows productivity gains and improved performance. Whereas in other studies, mind mapping technique shows no impact or mixed results. It is unknown whether the learning and usage of mind mapping technique will improve Malaysian student's academic achievement. Hence in this paper, conceptual framework and experimental study plan are developed to evaluate the impact of mind mapping technique on academic achievement (via one Science Subject) for secondary schools' students in Malaysia.
